Please have organised some way of remembering User names or Passwords! You are going to have a lot of these! Some of the methods that work well are:
Apps
notebooks
exercise books
if you have an iPhone or iPod Touch then get Lockbox (Free to $4.19) or Secondbrain ($1.29) Stores your user names, passwords, account details. A number password is needed to enter it.
What does not work in my vast experience of 15 years of working with teachers are 'various pieces of scrap paper'!!!
Set up a personal/professional account. This is useful for having professional conversations with your PLN. At some stage also set up a class account so that students can converse with children in other classes and schools.
To set up a Google account you need to get Gmail, this is important because it will allow you access to Google Docs a very useful collaborative tool and a place to save documents that can be accessed on any computer. You can also make forms and quizzes for your students. It also allows you to create blogs in Blogger, and access to a lot more Google tools.
Slideshare is a great storage place for your documents and slideshows. It allows you to embed your docs/slideshows in wikis or blogs. It is also a great resource place to look at and download other teachers docs/slideshows
Delicious is a place to save your Bookmarks or Favourites so that you can access them on any computer at any time, it is also a great resource by networking with other teachers and sharing their bookmarks as well. You need to set up a Yahoo account for this. It can be difficult to set up but perservere. If you want a delicious account for your class then you will need to set up a 'class' Yahoo account.

Register a Wikispace account so that you can join any of the wikis I have made or that other educators have made. Do this so that you can comment and collaborate on them. You will also one day might want to make your own professional or class wiki.
Facebook is not necessarily a personal noticeboard, it can be used for educational purposes. I have a business Facebook page where I post the updates I have made to websites. If you have 'Liked' my Facebook page then you will have access to all my latest updates as they will show up on your personal wall. Note: Liking my Facebook page does not make me your friend, so I can't follow you or see your personal wall.
Find great websites, follow your peers and experts, share information, find information, ask question, answer questions, follow like minded people. Why would I want Twitter?
Create an online storage system for you and your students files. This could be a place where students store their work for marking, or where you could store files for them to access. Also a great way of sharing photos from computer to iPad
New Zealand Virtual Learning Network. This is an online network for NZ teachers where you can belong to forums, participate in conversations, ask questions and learn a lot from other teachers. You can sign up with an email and a password or you can log in using your Google login (it does take 24 hours to activate if you use your Google login for the first time)
Creating your own 'Teacher Digital Toolkit' aligns with all Criteria of the Registered Teacher Criteria and e-Learning
